community participation

The enthusiastic involvement of local people has been a crucial factor in the success of some of PTEa’s largest projects, including the regeneration of whole neighbourhoods.

By means of design workshops, exhibitions, surveys, awaydays and planning-for-real exercises, PTEa has gained the confidence of communities which have often suffered years of disappointment and false starts.

Our readiness to take on board the concerns of existing residents has repeatedly led to the selection of our team: on the Packington Estate our response to residents’ desire to include family houses in the new masterplan led to our selection. And our regeneration of the Page Road Estate was so popular with residents that they volunteered to speak on our behalf to the residents of the Mill Farm Close Estate as part of the selection process – which was also successful.

The volume of repeat business in this area confirms our achievement.
