In 1998 Pollard Thomas Edwards architects won an open competition, held by British Waterways; for a site at the junction of the Regent’s Canal and City Road Basin.
PTEa were both co-developers and architects for the mixed use scheme which included 13,400 sq ft of commercial office space.
The canalside office is located on the ground floor within the faceted glass walls of the new “Crystal Wharf” building. With a floor level below the water line and fully glazed façade the space allows unprecedented views of the basin. Access is provided through a sculptural glass box, containing lift and stair, from the landscaped courtyard above.
