The existing Mill Farm Close Estate consists of slab blocks in poor condition set in unused and unloved open space. Our scheme will replace these with family houses and flats arranged around a central green space with a tree-lined pedestrian route running alongside.

The scheme will exploit the potential of the site to increase density from 86 to 165 homes whilst providing all family houses and ground-floor flats with their own private back gardens. The open green space will be concentrated in one central area to improve its
usability, and it will incorporate play areas for children.

A key element of the design has been the incorporation of 67 houses into the scheme to
provide homes for local families. The apartments will be arranged in low-rise blocks around small cores, and all the larger flats will have a double aspect. All existing residents will be rehoused on the estate, and homes will also be available for shared ownership and private sale.
