This site is one of several that together made up the old Hendon RAF base. In the 1960s, many of the sites were developed as housing schemes. The largest was the Grahame Park Estate of 1,800 homes.
Adastral South Village, a mixed tenure development of 320 new dwellings, community centre, and shop is the first site to be re-developed, as a model for the regeneration of the whole area.
The design increases the number of dwellings on the site, whilst retaining the same area of public open space, and was the winner of the design competition held by Notting Hill Housing Group. Completed in November 2005 it will be followed by the re-development of Grahame Park.
