Anglia Ruskin Campus chelmsford

Anglia Ruskin University is vacating its 3.4 hectare central campus just outside Chelmsford’s historic town centre. The relocation of the University’s facilities provides a major opportunity for the development of a masterplan which will include new public spaces and enhanced pedestrian routes to reintegrate the site and nearby transport hub with the town centre. It will also provide more than 800 mixed-tenure homes, and a sustainable mix of arts, commercial and retail uses.

Our masterplan includes a new Station Plaza, and connects the busy, northerly part of the site around the station to Chelmsford Central Park, which lies to the south of the site, via a pedestrian-friendly necklace of public spaces. Our aim is to bring the park into the town, and to create a legible route that enhances the character of the individual urban spaces along the way.
