PTEa was appointed by the Liverpool Housing Action Trust (LHAT) in 1999 as consultants for the refurbishment of the five tower blocks at the popular Sefton Park.
The refurbishment included a new small community building, completed in 2005, providing a housing office, a main hall and support facilities. The plan allows for each of these elements to operate separately.
The exterior of the building is finished with a combination of render, timber panelling and metal cladding. The centre includes the innovative ‘Tenant Spin’, which provides residents with a recording booth to facilitate the transmitting of community broadcasts to the five adjacent tower blocks.
