northcroft court hammersmith w12

Northcroft Court is the £3m 1997 conversion of a Grade II listed Victorian school into 30 homes with nine new houses in the former playground.

PTEa’s design philosophy for the conversion, for Shepherd’s Bush Housing Association, was to minimise structural alterations in order to retain the original classroom volumes.

Mezzanine floors have now transformed each classroom into a maisonette, many with double-height living rooms. Smaller units have bedroom galleries on top of a core which overlook the 4.4m high living space. Some family units have living spaces woven into the decoratively trussed roofs, connected to private roof terraces.
