The full range of PTEa’s experience
tends to converge in our work on
town centre regeneration, combining
public realm design with the provision
of homes, community facilities and
employment space.
Such projects are also increasingly
leading us into retail design, which is a
relatively new sector for the practice:
we are advising local authorities and
developers on the integration of small
and large shops (including supermarkets)
into complex urban sites, combined with
new housing developments and major
public realm improvements.
Current projects include: An entire new
urban district, Central Chelmsford, the
mix-used redevelopment of a former
University campus to provide retail,
office, community and residential
accommodation in Essex; a new civic hub
and market place for Deptford Town
Centre; a shopping centre and apartment
development set above a transport
interchange in Tottenham; remodelling
part of Walthamstow’s retail centre
with new shops, bars and a cinema;
conversion of a listed mill and new
retail and residential accommodation as
part of the developing masterplan for
Cambridge train station.
