In 2001, the London Borough of Lambeth invited teams to submit offers for the provision of a new frail and elderly complex, which had to be of outstanding design and quality, and self funding.

Working with the Metropolitan Housing Trust, a winning development was designed for 30 affordable flats for the frail and elderly, a warden’s flat and 24-hour community facilities and 46 private for sale homes which cross-subsidise the scheme.

The sheltered flats are arranged in two distinctive crescents creating a tranquil sheltered garden and forecourt.
