PTEa has been designing successful
housing for older people for many
years, and our current practice and
research seeks new
responses to the opportunities and
challenges presented by Britain’s
ageing population.
We provide homes across the full
spectrum of needs experienced by
older people. This ranges from fully
self-contained apartments aimed at
older purchasers or tenants, through
sheltered housing and extra-care
homes, to fully staffed residential
homes. Frequently these form part of
mixed developments, with general-needs
housing for rent or sale helping
to provide income and ensuring the
presence of a mixed community.
We understand the diverse needs of
older people, whether it is a matter
of providing convenient and spacious
apartments for wealthy downsizers
or integrating active older people
into the community or creating a
secure garden for sufferers from
dementia. As well as working on new
developments, we have experience
of bringing existing facilities up to
contemporary standards.
