Our plan is to transform the current 1970s estate into a network of new and restored squares laid out along the main axis of the estate, which will in turn open up onto a new canalside walk, from where pedestrians can pass over the canal footbridge to the south. The opening up of the canal as a resource for leisure in an area which has very little pubic open space is a major feature of the scheme.
